Milky Way Over Pettit Lake

A commission took me to Pettit Lake in the Sawtooth Valley of Idaho on a warm, early summer weekend. I painted this piece as a memory for a couple who was married in the Valley, and part of their wedding festivities took place at Pettit Lake at night. I had assistance with images for this painting from my friend and photographer, Jason Kauffman, of Alpenglow Press. I love when the creation of a memory for someone else becomes a memory for me.
