Early spring in the mountains is a hopeful time. Upon close inspection, the drab colors of snow-smashed grasses hide little green and purple flowers basking in the spring sun, while cold streams break loose of their icy crusts nearby. This spot is in the Boulder Mountains outside Sun Valley, Idaho.
